Greenville, S.C. (Apr. 13, 2017) --- Furman scored the first 11 goals of the game and cruised to an 18-5 Atlantic Sun victory over Delaware State in a women’s lacrosse contest today.

The Paladins won their fourth game in a row to improve to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the ASUN. The Hornets dropped their fifth straight to fall to 1-6 and 1-5.

Furman’s Grace Pollak came off the bench to score a game-high four goals. She also had an assist to tie for game-high honors with five points. Abby Shields tallied three goals and two assists to also notch five points fo the Paladins.

A total of 11 Furman players scored in the game.

Iman Hassan led Delaware State with three goals to give her a team-high 12 this season and 43 in her  career.  

Brionna Watkins scored for the second straight game and Tai Galmore also notched a goal for the Hornets.

DSU trailed 14-1 at the half.

Furman was ahead 16-1 before the Hornets scored three straight goals, two by Hassan, in the second period.

The Hornets were outshot 31-11 in the game.

Delaware State plays its final road game of the season on Sunday at Coastal Carolina. The contest is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. in Conway, S.C.

The Hornets will wrap up the season with three games at home, beginning with a visit by Central Michigan on April 21 at 5:00 p.m.
