JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - No strangers to the NCAA East Preliminary Round, senior Donte' Holmes (Hyattsville, Md.) and junior Ryan Carter (Wilmington, Del.) each qualified for quarterfinal action for their performances Thursday during 2012 NCAA East Regional, held at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Holmes, seeded 11th in Thursday's 800m, finished third overall with a time of 1:48.89 to qualify for Friday's quarterfinals.  The senior qualified for his second East Preliminary Round with a season-best time of 1:48.48 at the Pepsi Florida Relays. The duo will also join juniors Tyquan Brown (Neptune, N.J.) and Tariq Devore (Queens, N.Y.) in Saturday's 4x400 relay.  DSU is seeded 10th for the East Prelims and will compete in the Quarterfinals at 9:25 p.m.
