Princess Anne, Md. (Apr. 1, 2017) --- Three pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout and Darnel Maisonet broke a scoreless tie with a two-run double in the eighth to lead Delaware State to a 2-0 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in a MEAC North contest at Hawk Field today.

Hornet closer Darrien Ragins pitched the ninth inning. He allowed a two-out single, but ended the game on a strikeout to record his fourth save.

Godfrey (2-1) was credited with the win.

Delaware State starter Lane DeLeon pitched six strong innings before leaving the game. DeLeon allowed just two singles and struck out seven.

Starter Wesley Martin (2-2) took the loss for UMES.
