Phila., Pa. (Apr. 20, 2011) --- Delaware State overcame a 5-0 deficit en route to a 9-5 win over La Salle at Hank DeVincent Field this afternoon.

The Hornets began their comeback with four runs in the sixth inning. Justin Allen singled to lead off the inning. Allen advanced to second on a groundout by Keith Hernandez and moved to third on a single by Scott Davis. After a walk to Ryan Haas loaded the bases, Aaron Nardone chased everyone home with a triple to left center to cut the Explorers' lead to 5-3. The Hornets pulled to within 5-4 when Nardone scored on fly ball by Tony Gatto that was booted by La Salle left fielder Brendon Norton.

Cameron Cecil walked to lead off the seventh and was sacrificed to second by Troy Drummond. Hernandez followed with a single to score Cecil and tie the game at 5-5. Hernandez advanced to second on a wild pitch and sped home on an infield single by Haas to give the Hornets a 6-5 lead.

Delaware State added a run in the eighth when Gatto walked to lead off the inning and later scored on a La Salle error.

The Hornets put two insurance runs on the board in the ninth inning. Haas tripled in Davis with the first run of the inning and Nardone collected his fourth RBI of the game on a grounder to score Haas and give DSU a 9-5 lead.

Hernandez and Haas had two hits each for the Hornets.
