Bethlehem, Pa. (Apr. 10, 2013) --- Aaron Nardone was two-for-four with five runs batted in, highlighted by a grand slam homer,  to lead Delaware State to a 10-8 non-conference win over Lehigh at Goodman Campus today. The game was called in the seventh inning due to rain.

The Hornets trailed 6-5 before scoring five runs in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead.  Cameron Onderko started the sixth inning rally with a lead-off double.  Two batters later, Cameron Cecil singled to advance Onderko to third.  After a Lehigh pitching change, Ryan Haas was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Mike Alexander followed with a single to score Onderko, tying the game at 6-6.

Nardone then blasted a shot over the right centerfield fence for his second career grand slam to give the Hornets a 10-6 lead.

Delaware State opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning on base hits by Haas and Nardone.

Lehigh answered with three runs in the bottom of the first off DSU starter Zach Adkins to take a 3-2 lead.

The Hornets regained the lead with two runs in the third. Alexander singled in the first run in the inning and scored the second run himself on a Lehigh error after his steal of third to give DSU a 4-3 lead.

Delaware State stretched its lead to 5-2 when Hassan Evans singled in Alexander with two outs in the fifth.

Lehigh responded with three runs in the last of the fifth to regain the lead, 6-5.
