Laura Streets begins her first season with the Hornets after serving one year as Assistant Coach for the Division III
Crusader Softball program at Susquehanna University.

 Here at Delaware State, Streets is involved in a wide array of responsibilities on a day to day basis. She works predominantly with the development of the pitching staff, focusing also on hitting and infielders. She is an active part in the  recruitment of new student-athletes and also actively contributes in all aspects of the camps/clinics run by Jeff Savage.   She is also working towards her Masters of Science in the Sports Administration field and is on track to graduate on the Spring of 2010.

Prior to her arrival at DSU, Streets was named an assistant coach at Susquehanna University for the 2007-2008 season. From 2005-2007, Streets played professional ball in Italy and in 2007, was named Manager/Coach for the Porpetto
Softball Society after playing for the A1 team out of Porpetto in 2006.  In 2005, she played for the A1 Italian Professional Team in Nuoro, on the island of Sardegna winning the 2005 Gold Glove for most outstanding third basemen in the league.

Streets graduated in May 2004 from the University of Delaware with a degree in English, minoring in Religious Studies.  She played four year for the Blue Hens as an infielder playing in 182 games in her career. Streets ranks fourth all time with a career batting average of .352, first in career homeruns, 16, second in career hits, with 186, and second with 103 career RBI’s. A co-captain of the 2004 Colonial Athletic Association Runner Up team, Streets was named CAA Payer of the Year in 2004, a year in which she hit .395 with 60 hits for the Blue Hens. That year she also was named First Team All CAA.
