Dover, Del. (Oct. 5, 2017) --- Delaware State teams will host an array of events this weekend. The competition begins with an equestrian contest on Friday (Oct. 6) between the Hornets and visiting Texas Christian Horned Frogs at the Dovington Training Center in Felton, Del. The event is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.

TCU is No. 8 in the 2017 preseason National Collegiate Equestrian Association poll, while Delaware State is ranked 10th.

The Hornets will also host Tennessee Martin on Saturday at the Dovington Training Center. The competition is set for 10 a.m.

The Delaware State volleyball team will finally play a home match this season. The Hornets have two contests this weekend, beginning with a MEAC battle against Hampton on Friday at 6 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

DSU also has a Sunday match at home against MEAC rival Norfolk State. The contest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The Delaware State women's soccer team has a Friday competition at home against Hampton. The contest begins at 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium. Prior to the match, the Hornets will salute 2017 seniors Kalyn Fauntleroy, McKenzie Miller and Kori Johnson.

DSU is 3-0 all-time vs. the Pirates, including a 6-1 victory at Hampton last season. The Hornets posted two 11-0 victories against HU in 2015.

Delaware State soccer also has a Monday (Oct. 9) match against Loyola (Md.) at the new DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica, Del. ( 7 p.m.).  

The Delaware team cross country teams will host its third meet of the season on Saturday at the DSU Outreach and Research Center near Smyrna.

The meet will serve as a tune-up for the MEAC Championships on Oct. 28 at the Delaware State course.
