Dover, Del. (June 4, 2018) --- Delaware State has been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for its student-athlete graduation success. The Hornets were recognized as the 2018 recipient of the MEAC Highest Graduation Success Rate (GSR). In addition to the recognition, DSU was presented a check for $25,000 by the conference. Delaware State’s 83-percent GSR is the highest among MEAC institutions spanning the 2007-10 cohorts.

The award comes on the heel of the Delaware State’s MEAC-best 191 scholar-athletes for the 2017 calendar year. The school-record Hornet scholars were among 1,366 from the 13 MEAC schools named to the 2017-18 Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, which honors non-freshmen student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2017 and fall 2017 semesters.

“I would like to commend the administrators, athletic academic support staff and personnel, coaches, institutions, and parents for their contributions to the academic success of these student-athletes,” said MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas.
