Queens, N.Y. (Nov. 29) --- The Lady Hornets fall to St.John’s 82-44, on Thursday night at the Carnesecca Arena. DSU’s senior forward NaJai Pollard led all scorers with 25 points, she also added seven rebounds, two blocks, and an assist.
The Lady Hornets and the Red Storm went back and forth to start the game. St. John’s struck first with a 7-2 run, but the Lady Hornets responded with a quick 5-0 run of their, tying the game at seven with 6:50 left in the first quarter. DSU trailed by only one after a layup by Pollard in response to a three pointer by St. John’s. The Red Storm answered back, with a 13-3 run taking a 23-12 lead into the second quarter.
St. Johns extended their lead to 25 points in the second quarter. Hornets guards Yazmin Batch and Shonnyvelle Regalado went on a 8-0 scoring spurt, including back to back three’s to cut the deficit to 17 heading into halftime.

Delaware State never led in the game.
The Lady Hornets were outscored 22-7 in the fourth quarter.
Delaware State shot 18-of-59 (30.5%) from the floor, just 5-of-16 (31.3%) on three-point attempts, and 3-of-5 (60%) from the free throw line.
St. John’s made 31-of-69 (44.9%) on field goal attempts, 7-of-18 (38.9%) from beyond-the-arc, and 13-of-19 from the charity stripe.
