Dover, Del. (Nov.13) --- Delaware State lost to James Madison 103-57. in their home opener, on Wednesday night at the Memorial Hall Gymnasium. Delaware State falls to 0-2 to start the season

The Lady Hornets took a 6-4 lead after a layup by NaJai Pollard with 6:18 left in the first quarter. James Madison responded with a 21-point run to lead 25-6 heading into the second quarter.

Delaware State never recovered.

James Madison’s 46-point victory was also their biggest lead of the game.

Delaware State shot 22-of-58 from the field (37.9%), 3-of-10 (30%) on three-pointers, and 10-13 (76.9%) on free-throws.

Genell Addison tied the team high with 13 points (6-7 FG). Addison is shooting 77% from the floor to start the season.

NaJai Pollard tallied 13 points (tied team high), eight rebounds (game high), and three blocks (game high).

Keke Barber also scored in double figures, with 10 points. Barber added three rebounds, and a team high three steals.

Yazmin Batch hit a three pointer with 2:31 left in the third quarter, for the first points of her career. Batch missed all of last season with a knee injury.

James Madison shot 38-78 (48.7%) field goal attempts, 18-31 (58.1%) on three-point field goals, and a perfect 9-9 (100%) from the free throw line.

Kamiah Smalls led all scorers with 17 points. Five James Madison players scored in double figures, everyone one the team scored at least two points.
