Dover, Del. (Jan. 24, 2013) --- Delaware State University receiver Travis Tarpley (r-sr.; Danville, Va.) has been selected to the 2012 Sheridan Broadcast Network Black College All-America Team, announced by the American Urban Radio Networks. Tarpley, a 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference First Team pick, was number one in the MEAC in receptions (7.8 pg) and receiving yards (96.2 pg); and tied for first in touchdown catches (7) this past season.

He set new Delaware State records with 86 receptions for 1,058 yards during the 2012 season.

Tarpley and the rest of the SBN All-America Team will be honored at the 39th Annual BCAA Awards Brunch and during the Black College Hall-of-Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on February 16 in Atlanta, Ga.

Tarpley is the first Delaware State SBN Black College All-America selection since record-setting placekicker Peter Gaertner in 2007. He is one of five MEAC players on the 2012 Black College All-America squad.
