Delaware State welcomes MEAC rival South Carolina State to Alumni Stadium. The Hornets are 2-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. DSU is coming off a 20-17 road win at Norfolk State last Saturday. The Hornets scored the winning touchdown on a 23-yard pass from Nick Elko to Justin Brewton with 10:01 left to play. The DSU defense forced four turnovers in the contest, including an interception by free safety Davon Moore with 29 seconds left to seal the win. South Carolina State has dropped four of its last five games to fall to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the MEAC. The Bulldogs suffered a 40-10 loss to North Carolina Central in the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis, Ind., their last outing. South Carolina State outgained NC Central by 98 yards (333-235), but committed five turnovers (3 INTs), resulting in 24 North Carolina Central points. 

This will be the 42nd contest between the teams, which first met when the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference was established in 1971. South Carolina State has won the last four meetings to open a 26-15 lead in the series. The Bulldogs won last year's contest 69-0 in Orangeburg, S.C. South Carolina State  also won the last meeting at Delaware State 38-21 in 2010.  The Hornets' last win in the series was in 2007 (17-16 at SC State).
