Casey joined the DSU Academic Services for Student-Athletes staff for the Spring 2012 semester after working in the human service and education field for the past 20 years.
The 1989 DSU graduate earned his Master's in Education from Wilmington University in 1997 and is a licensed professional counselor of mental health, National Board Certified Counselor and State of Delaware Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
While at DSU, Casey was a two-year starting running back on the football team and helped lead the Hornets to DSU's first MEAC Championship in 1985.
