Dover, Del. (Oct. 11, 2009) --- The Delaware State men's tennis team won four of the five contested  singles matches en route to a 4-3 win over St. Francis at Wesley College this afternoon. The Hornets improved to 2-1 this fall.

Roman Pitatelev had the most impressive singles performance for the Hornets, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Daniel Gonzalez in the No. 4 contest.

Christopher Kano (No. 1), Brian Gelis (No. 2) and Milos Velickovic (No. 3) also posted straight-set wins for the Hornets.

Kano improved to 3-0 this fall with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Danladi Robinson. Gelis was a 7-6, 6-1 winner over Tita Mba and Velickovic bested James Brennan Tsung 6-2, 6-3.

Pitatelev and Kano also teamed up for the Hornets' lone doubles win, posting an 8-3 victory in the No. 2 contest. Gelis and Velickovic were outlasted 9-7 in the No. 1 doubles match.
