Dover, Del. (Apr. 12, 2018) --- Delaware State sophomore bowler Alexis Neuer (Lewisburg, Pa.) has another major honor to her add to her collection. Neuer has been listed by the National Tenpin Coaches Association as a 2017-18 All-America Honorable Mention, essentially placing in the top 25 among collegiate female bowlers. The NTCA this week released its All-America first, second and third teams selection, consisting of five players each, and the 10 honorable mentions.
Neuer is the only Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference bowler to make the list.
Last month, she became the first Hornet to capture the MEAC’s Bowler-of-the-Year award, in addition to earning All-MEAC First Team honors.
A five-time MEAC Bowler-of-the-Week, Neuer has also qualified for the upcoming United States Bowling Congress national singles championship after finishing second in this year’s regional competition. Her performance at the USBC regionals was highlighted by a career-best 296, a Delaware State single-game record and tops in the MEAC this season. She also competed in the national singles championship tournament as a freshman in 2017.
Statistically, Neuer ranks 21st in the nation with an overall average of 204.12 this year.
Neuer and her Hornet teammates will compete in the 2018 USBC national team championships later this month.
