Kalamazoo, Mich. (Apr. 8, 2018) --- Anna Schoonover scored five goals and Jocelyne Lemay added four to led Central Michigan to an 18-1 win over Delaware State in a Southern Conference women’s lacrosse contest today.

The Chippewas won for the fifth time in the last six games to improve to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Conference this season. The Hornets fell to 0-8 and 0-2.

Schoonover also had two assists for a total of seven points in the contest. She scored three goals in the first 12-minute-10 seconds of the game. Her third goal gave CMU a 7-0 lead.


The Chips led 11-0 at the half.


Delaware State trailed 12-0 when Lauren Perry scored the Hornets’ lone goal on an unassisted shot at the 26:36 mark of the second period. Perry has a team-high 11 goals this season.


Natalie Karlen came off the bench to add five points on two goals and three assists for Central Michigan.


Delaware State goal keeper Elizabeth Henry returned from a five-game absence to record nine saves in the game.


The Hornets will also play their next two games on the road, beginning with a visit to Stetson in DeLand, Fla., next Friday (Apr. 13).
