Norfolk, Va., (Mar. 2)— NaJai Pollard (Jr., Richmond, Va.) was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) First Team, the conference office announced today. 

Pollard averaged 18.2 points (1st in the MEAC), 8.4 rebounds (4th in the MEAC), and 1.8 blocks (4th in the MEAC) during the regular season. 

The junior forward scored 20 points or more 12 times in 21 games this season, including a season high 28 points against Bethune-Cookman. She also finished the regular season with eight double-doubles .

Pollard was named to the Maggie Dixon Classic All-Tournament Team on November 18, and was named MEAC Player of the week on January 23.

The 2017-18 regular-season co-champions, All-MEAC First Team members and honorees – such as Player, Rookie, Defensive Player and Coach of the Year – will be recognized in pre-game presentations prior to their first games of the 2018 MEAC Basketball Tournament (March 5-10 in Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.).
