Dover, Del (Feb. 4, 2018) --- Creating a world with zero shoeless children. That’s the goal of Samaritan’s Feet, a non-profit organization that shares a message of hope and love through the act of washing the feet of children around the world and adorning them with new shoes. Members of the Delaware State University family, including student-athletes and athletics administrators, assisted Samaritan’s Feet during its distribution of new shoes to local children at South Dover Elementary School this past weekend.
Hornet volunteers served numerous tasks during the event, including feet washing, filling water buckets, and selection of shoes and socks, in addition to sharing stories with the kids.
Countless college basketball coaches have partnered with Samaritan’s Feet to provide shoes for children throughout the United States and around the world, along with helping to raise awareness to the dangers faced by people without shoes or proper fitting footwear.
