Delaware State (3-17; 2-5 MEAC) looks for its first two-game win streak of the season. The Lady Hornets are coming off a 62-54 victory over Morgan State for their first road win of the season on Jan. 22. Lanayjha Ashe led three DSU players in double figures with a game-high 17 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the field. She also pulled down six rebounds, dished out three assists and collected two steals in the contest. NaJai Pollard recorded her fifth double-double of the season, tallying 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to lead all players. She also matched her career-high with five blocks in the game. Ryan Jones contributed 14 points (4-8 FGs; 4-4 FT) and six rebounds to win. The Lady Hornets led 36-25 at the half and was ahead by as many as 13 points in the third quarter. Morgan State pulled to within five points in the fourth quarter, but could get no closer. For the season, Pollard is tops on the team and second in the MEAC in scoring at 18.2 points per game. She also ranks among the MEAC leaders in rebounding at 7.5 per game. Ashe is second on the Lady Hornets in scoring (10.5 ppg) and tops in assists (62) and steals (44). Jones averages 9.3 points per game to rank third on the team, while Keke Barber is DSU’s second-best rebounder (6.0 pg) and the team leader with 19 three-point field goals.
Savannah State (2-15; 0-6 MEAC) brings an 11-game losing streak into the contest. The Lady Tigers suffered a 78-58 homes loss to Norfolk State in their last outing on Jan. 22. Kaylee Allen led SSU with 24 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Allen leads the team in scoring at 14.2 per game overall and 17.5 pg vs. MEAC opponents. Donasja Scott is second on the Tigers with an 11.3 ppg average, while Alexxus Sowell leads the team in rebounding at 7.6 per game.

This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season. Savannah State won the lone 2016-17 contest 64-57 in Savannah, Ga. The last time DSU and Savannah State met in Memorial Hall, the Tigers posted a 76-45 victory during the 2014-15 season. SSU has won two of the last three meetings, although Delaware State holds a 5-4 lead in the all-time series.
