Chicago, Ill. (Nov. 18, 2017) --- The Lady Hornets committed 30 turnovers in a 110-71 loss to DePaul in the semifinal round of the Maggie Dixon Classic tournament.

The Hornets opened the game up 6-2, after two baskets by NaJai Pollard and a fast break layup by Ryan Jones. DePaul went on a 13-0 run to take a 19-6 lead with 5:39 left in the 1st quarter.  

NaJai Pollard scored ten points in the frame; she finished the game with her first double-double of the season, with 27 points (10-16 FGs; 7-9 FTs) and 10 rebounds. DePaul led though, by the score of 33-16 heading into the second quarter.

The Hornets would never retake the lead.

DSU trailed by as many as 43 points with 9:23 left in the game.

Ashton Millender led six Blue Demons in double figures, scoring 27 points (10-12 FGs; 7-9 3pt FGs).

Ryan Jones recorded 15 points (7-9 FTs) and four assists for the Lady Hornets, Arion Jackson added 12 points (6-7 FGs) and five rebounds for Delaware State.

Hornets made 26-of-63 from the floor (41.3%), and 18-21 from the free throw line (85.7%). However, they shot just 1-of-10 on three-point field goals (10%).

DePaul converted 40-of-91 field goal attempts (44%), 15-of-21 from the charity stripe, and 15-of-53 from three-point range (28.3%).

Delaware State will face Ole Miss at 6:30 pm central time to end the tournament.
