Dover, Del. (Sep. 6, 2017) --- The Delaware State soccer team’s weekend trip to South Carolina has been cancelled due to Hurricane Irma, which forecasters say could cause major damage along the U.S. southeast coast.

The Hornets were scheduled to play a Friday (Sep. 8) match at the Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and a Sunday (Sep. 10) contest at Charleston Southern.

The matches are not expected to be rescheduled, although DSU head coach Kortney Rhoades she will attempt to find other opponents to make up for the lost contests.

Delaware State’s next scheduled match is Sep. 14 against George Washington at the new DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica, Del. The contest is set for 7 p.m.
