Men's Outdoor Track Coaching Staff

Drummond was hired as Delaware State's Head Cross Country Coach in August 2015. He brought a wealth of experience and success to the Hornets.

Drummond most recently served as head track & field/cross country coach at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania since October 2014.

While at Lincoln, he led the women's cross country team to the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship, the team's first conference title as a NCAA Div. II program.  Drummond was selected as CIAA Coach-of-the-Year for the achievement.

In addition, Lincoln's women's cross country team earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic Team honors for achieving a grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher for the 2014-15 academic year.

Lincoln's track and field/cross country programs also produced two NCAA championship participants, 19 All-CIAA honorees, three individual conference champs, one conference Most Valuable Performer and a World University Games competitor during Drummond's tenure.

Prior to accepting the Lincoln University post, Drummond was an assistant track and field/cross country coach at Hampton University, helping to establish the Pirate programs as, arguably, the best in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference during his three years at the school.

During Drummond's tenure at Hampton, the Pirates earned six MEAC women's track and field championships, one women's cross country title and one men's track and field crown.

Drummond also helped produce three NCAA All-America performers (two individual; one team), nine NCAA All-America Honorable Mentions (individual and relays), 49 All-MEAC honorees, 11 individual MEAC champs, two conference MVPs and one MEAC indoor championship record-holder.

In addition, he helped produce a USA Track & Field championship performer while at Hampton.

Drummond began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and volunteer at his alma mater, The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore.

His coaching assistance at UMES helped produce two NCAA All-Americans, eight NCAA All-America Honorable Mentions, three MEAC team titles and 33 individual conference champions.

Drummond has also served as an assistant track and field coach at Mount Mercy University in Iowa; and as head boy's and girl's track and field in the Somerset County (Md.) Public Schools.

After an All-America high school career in New York, Drummond enrolled at the University of Tennessee. He helped lead Tennessee to Southeast Conference (SEC) indoor and outdoor championships in 2001.

He later transferred to UMES, where he set MEAC records in the indoor and outdoor 800-meter run; and earned NCAA Regional All-America honors.

Drummond achieved All-MEAC track & field and cross country recognition each year from 2002 to '04.

A native of Jamaica, he placed third in the 800-meters at the 2005 Jamaica National Championships; and was fourth in the country's 2004 Olympic trials.

Drummond earned a bachelor's degree from UMES in 2006 and a master's from the school in 2008.
