The former Youngstown University standout wide receiver joined the Hornet staff in February 2015.

In 2015, Hornet junior Aris Scott emerged as one of the top receivers in the MEAC, ranking fourth in the league in receiving yards at 62.1 per game (683 total receiving yards) and tying for fifth in receptions at 4.2 per contest (46 total).

Scott had 12 catches vs. Hampton on Oct. 10, 2015, tying for second in team history for receptions in a game.   

Berassa completed his college career in 2014. He was Youngstown State’s second leading receiver that season, hauling in 32 passes (long 72) for 574 yards (17.6 ypc) and six touchdowns.

Berassa had 37 catches for 552 yards and a team-best eight touchdowns during his sophomore season. He had five catches for a season-best 97 yards in the Penguins’ victory over No. 1 North Dakota State that year.

His career stats include 76 receptions for 1248 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Prior to enrolling at Youngstown State, Berassa was a Florida scholastic star. He was honorable mention All-Dade County 6A-4A selection as a wide receiver by the Miami Herald and .selected to play in the Miami-Dade High School Football All-Star Gridiron Classic.

Berassa earned his bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State in 2014.
