Dover, Del  (Nov. 8, 2019) -  Delaware State will join the other 10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) bowling programs in Maryland this weekend for the first conference round-up of the season. The competition, hosted by Coppin State at Bowl America in Glen Burnie, Md., will be the first chance for each team to begin positioning itself to qualify for the 2020 MEAC Bowling Championship.

There will be a second conference round-up hosted, by Florida A&M, on Feb. 21-23 in Pensacola, Fla.

The two meets will determine which eight teams will compete in the 2020 MEAC Bowling Championship March 20-22, 2020 at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va.

Delaware State has been idle since opening its 2019-20 season with a fourth place finish, posting a 7-2 overall record, in the Mount St. Mary’s Shootout on Oct. 19 & 20.

The Hornets were 5-0 in traditional team play on Saturday and 2-2 in Sunday Baker contests. DSU had a total pinfall of 9,033 pins for a 184.3 average in 49 frames.

Delaware State’s Alexis Neuer (sr.), a 2019-20 Preseason All-MEAC selection, was named to the Mount St. Mary’s All-Tournament Team after finishing fifth among 102 competitors with a total pinfall of 982 for a five-game average of 196.4. Neuer topped the 200-mark in five games, including a high of 213.
