Dover, Del. (Oct. 7, 2019) --- A school-record 17 home games highlight the 2019-20 Delaware State University women’s basketball schedule.  The Lady Hornets open the 29-game regular season schedule by playing eight of nine games in Memorial Hall, beginning with the first two contests against Lehigh (Nov. 6) and Post (Nov. 9).

After a visit to Delaware on Nov. 12, the Hornet women will be home for the next six games. The home stand begins with a Memorial Hall visit by Georgian Court on Nov. 16 and ends with a contest against St. Peter’s on Dec. 7.

In addition to Lehigh and St. Peter’s, other Division I non-conference opponents visiting Delaware State this season are Binghamton (Nov. 21), Cornell (Nov. 23), William & Mary (Nov. 30) and Cleveland State (Dec. 2) at

The Lady Hornets will be on the road for the next three games, including a contest against Boston College of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Dec. 20.

Delaware State will begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play at home against Morgan State on Saturday Jan. 4. This season, the Lady Hornets’ four home Saturday MEAC contests are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., following the DSU men’s game.

The other 4:00 p.m. home Saturday MEAC starts are Jan. 11 vs. North Carolina Central, Feb. 1 against Coppin State and Feb. 15 vs. Florida A&M.

The Lady Hornets’ Monday 2019-20 home MEAC contests vs. North Carolina A&T (Jan. 13), Maryland-Eastern Shore (Feb. 3), Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 17) and Norfolk State (Mar. 2) will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. 

The Delaware State women’s basketball team was 7-5 at home during the 2018-19 season, including wins in five of their last six MEAC contests.

The Lady Hornets return two letterwinners from their 2018-19 squad, however, second-year head coach Dave Caputo has the top 2019-20 newcomer class in the MEAC, according to respected recruiting publications.

The 2020 MEAC Tournament is set for Mar. 9-14 at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.
