Delaware State looks to salvage a win in the third stop of a three-game road swing. The Lady Hornets have dropped the first two game of the road trip, including a 75-55 setback to North Carolina A&T in their last outing on Feb. 5. DSU had won its previous two games before the current road swing. In the North Carolina A&T contest, DSU shot 53.1% in the first quarter (8-for-15), but trailed 23-21 after 10 minutes. The Lady Hornets were outscored 41-14 over the next two quarters to fall further behind. Keke Barber came off the bench to lead DSU with 13 points in the game (5-9 FG; 2-4 3pt. FG), while Ryan Jones was the only other Lady Hornet in double figures with 10 points. For the season, MEAC Preseason Player-of-the-Year NaJai Pollard is tops on the Lady Hornets in scoring (17.9 ppg), rebounding (7.7 pg), blocks (34) and steals (28), despite missing six games this season due to a knee injury. She also has a team-high five double-doubles this season. Lanajyjha Ashe (so.) is second on the team in scoring at 10.7 points per game. She also leads the Lady Hornets with 69 assists and 46 steals to rank among the MEAC leaders in each category. Barber is tops on the team with 30 three-point field goals, including a school record-tying seven vs. Savannah State on Jan. 27 

Norfolk State (13-9; 6-4 MEAC) is  coming off a 63-48 road win against defending MEAC champ Hampton on Saturday. Alexis Long led the Lady Spartans with a game-high 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 on three-point shots. Raven Russell added 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds for Norfolk State. Kayla Roberts is tops on the team and sixth in the MEAC in scoring at 14.5 points per game. She’s also the team’s leading rebounder at 7.3 per game. Long is No. 1 in the MEAC with a .494 three-point shooting percentage (41-for-83).

HORNETS vs. Spartans Series History (DSU leads 23-19) 
This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season. Norfolk State swept two contests against Delaware State during the 2016-17 season. NSU defeated the Lady Hornets 82-74 in Dover, Del., during the 2016-17 regular season and completed the sweep with a 60-40 win in the 2017 MEAC Tournament in Norfolk, Va. DSU’s NaJai Pollard combined for 39 points and 29 rebounds in the two contests, including a 21-point, 18-rebound performance in the regular season meeting.
