Dover, Del. (Dec. 3rd, 2017) --- The Lady Hornets ran out of gas in the second half, as they fall to the Drexel Dragons 73-52.

A’Nikeyawna Barber and NaJai Pollard combined for three three-point field goals in the first quarter, and accounted for 12 of the team’s first 14 points to start the game, but Drexel took a 17-14 lead heading into the second quarter.

There were five lead changes in the first quarter (seven for the game).

DSU took a four-point (25-21) lead after Syonah Williams finished at the basket with a hook shot at the 6:12 mark of the second quarter. The Dragons responded with an 11-5 run to retake the lead and head into halftime up 32-30.

NaJai Pollard scored 13 points in the half, Pollard would finish the game with 19 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and one block.

Drexel took control in the second half outscoring the Hornets 41-22, in the final two quarters.

The Hornets were outscored 23-14 in the third quarter, as the Dragons connected on 5 of their 7 three-point attempts.

They also lost the fourth quarter 18-8, the Hornets were held to 3-of-17 from the field, in the final quarter.

The Hornets shot 21-of-59 from the field (35.6%) and 6-17 on three-point field goal attempts (35.3%).

The Dragons made 30-of-60 field goals (50.0%) and 10-21 (47.6%) from beyond the arc.

A’Nikeyawna Barber scored 10 points and grabbed four boards for DSU.

Kelsi Lidge led four Dragons in double digit scoring, Lidge finished with 17 points, and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Hornets will wrap up their three game homestand vs. Robert Morris on Wednesday. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
