DSU VOLLEYBALL BEGINS FINAL REG. SEASON ROAD SWING

Dover, Del. (Nov. 8, 2019) --- The Delaware State volleyball team continues its quest for a MEAC Tournament berth with two road matches this weekend. The Hornets begin the road swing with a visit to four-time defending conference champ and current MEAC North leader Howard Friday evening. The match is set for 6:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.  The Hornets will play their final regular season road contest on Sunday at Norfolk State.

Delaware State is currently tied with Maryland-Eastern four fourth place in the north standings with 5-6 division records, although MDES holds the tie-breaker by virtue of sweeping the Hornets in their two meetings this season.

The top four teams in the division race qualify for the post season championship tournament. The Hornets have not competed in the tournament since 2010. DSU's 10 overall wins this season (10-16) under first-year head coach Bruce Atkinson are the most by the program since the 2010 season.

Maryland-Eastern Shore plays Norfolk State Friday evening and at Howard on Sunday.

Delaware State and MDES are two games behind Coppin State (7-5) for third place in the North standings.

The Hornets will wrap up the regular season with home matches against Coppin State (Nov. 15 @ 4:00 p.m.) and Morgan State (Nov. 17 @ 2:00 p.m.)
