DSU SEASON ENDS WITH SECOND MEAC TOURNAMENT LOSS

Ormond Beach, Fla. (May 9, 2019) --- North Carolina A&T pitcher Zadaisha Waddell was four-for-four with five runs batted in to lead the Aggies to a 10-0 win over Delaware State in a MEAC Tournament elimination game today. The game was called after DSU batted in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the eight-run rule. NCA&T (9-30) stays alive in the double-elimination tournament, while the loss ends the season for the Hornets (10-32).

Waddell (5-8) pitched all five innings for the Aggies, allowing two singles, while striking out four without a walk to earn the win.

At the plate, she had a three-run double in the second inning to give NCA&T a 4-0 lead.  Her two-run double in the fifth drove home the Aggies' eighth and ninth runs.

NCA&T catcher Samantha Ramirez was two-for-three with two RBI.

Jasmine Melgoza had a first inning single and Jordan Casey singled in the fifth to account for the two Delaware State base runners.

Hornet starter Brianna Baker (7-19) was tagged with the loss.
