DSU WITH PLENTY STANDOUT PERFORMANCES AT THE HORNET INVITE

Dover, Del. (Apr. 23) --- Delaware State University played hosts for the first time in five seasons on Tuesday afternoon in a new invitational aptly called the 'Hornet Invite.'

The Hornets performed up to expectations at Alumni Stadium having various athletes finish in the top three at their respective events.

Corey McGhie led the way for the Hornets finishing first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4-minutes-23.12 seconds. Hasan Gill (4:23.96) Komlan Attiogbe (4:32.13) and Jose Infante-Rosales (4:38.65) places third, fourth and fifth respectively in the same event.

Julian Brown finishes in first as well with a time of 55.46 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles. Austin Goodwin places fourth (59.03 seconds).

Roderick Brown places third in the Long Jump with 6.19 meters, Karim Beatty finishes fourth with 6.12 meters and Forrest Booker places fifth with a mark of 6.10 meters.

Booker finishes third in the Triple Jump with 13.18 meters and Karim Beatty grabs another fourth-place finish with 12.54 meters.

Donte Rolley Williams finishes third in the 800-meter run (2:01.27). Gerald Amobi (2:03.07) and Gregory Moore (2:05.27) places fourth and fifth in the same event.

Kendall Leach places third in the 400 meters crossing the finish line in 49.76 seconds.

Jared Keaton places third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.22 seconds.

Robert Duncan's mark of 40.10 meters leads to a fourth-place finish in the Discus Throw, Andrew Horne finishes sixth with 36.20 meters.

William Adams places fourth in the Javelin Throw with 24.95 meters.

Andrew Horne finishes fourth in the Shot Put with 12.23 meters.

Julius Allen finishes seventh in with a time of 22.43 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Telvin Collins places eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.14 seconds.

The 'Hornet invite' also doubled as senior day for the Hornets, seniors Julius Allen and Roderick Brown were honored after the meet.

Up Next

The Hornets will participate in the historic Penn Relays. The meet starts this Thursday and will wrap up on Saturday.
