Norfolk, Va. (Apr. 15, 2019) --- Garrett Lawson’s dominating performance in a 10-0 victory over MEAC North leader Coppin State last Friday has earned him a second weekly award by the league this season.

Lawson today was named MEAC Pitcher-of-the-Week for the second time this season after striking out a career-high 14 batters and allowing just two hits in the seven-inning win over the Eagles on Apr. 12.

He recorded eight of his first nine outs by strikeout and struck out the side in the first, third and sixth innings of the contest.  

Lawson only allowed singles in the second and fifth innings and just two Coppin State batters reached second base during the game. 

The Dover, Del., native is 5-3 with a 1.70 earned run average and 62 strikeouts in 51.1 innings of work this season.
