Dover, Del. (Spr. 7, 2019) --- Howard won four of six singles matches to highlight its 4-3 women's tennis victory over Delaware State in a MEAC match this afternoon. The Hornets won two of three doubles contests to earn a point, but could not overcome the singles defeats. The match was tied at 3-3 when  Howard won the No. 1 singles match in three sets to earn the win.    

DSU had impressive singles wins by Cassandra Boltman and Alina Polyvana. Boltman posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kendall Addison in the No. 3 match, while Polyvana was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Christina Joynes at No. 4.

Sofia Rachi took her opponent to three sets before falling in the No. 1 contest. Rachi lost the first set to   Yasmine Khiri 6-4, but bounced back to tie the match with a 6-4 victory in set two. Khiri claimed the win with a 6-4 victory in the deciding third set.

Delaware State posted wins in the numbers two and three doubles matches.

Boltman and Aayushi Chouhan teamed up for a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles. The duo is undefeated at No. 2 doubles vs. MEAC opponents this season.

Polyvana and Yelysaveta Bessonova were 6-2 winners at No. 3 doubles for the Hornets.
