Salisbury, Md. (Mar. 30, 2019) --- Delaware State won four of six singles matches and two of three singles contests to defeat Salisbury 6-3 in a women's tennis match today.
The Hornets won each singles match in straight sets.
Anastasia Belkina posted an impressive 6-0, 6-2 victory over Laura Brown in the No. 2 singles match, while Cassandra Boltman also won by a 6-0, 6-2 score in her No. 3 contest against Taylor Copper.
DSU's Akina Polyvana was a 7-5, 6-1 winner over Sydney Soto at No. 4, while DSU's Aayushi Chouhan defeated Jordan Schaefer 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 5 battle.
Belkina also teamed up with Sofia Rachi for an 8-7 (9-7) win in the No. 1 doubles match. The Hornets also won the No. 2 doubles contest, with Chouhan and Boltman coming out on top 8-5.
The Delaware State women's tennis team is home on Sunday (Mar. 31) to face Coppin State in a MEAC match. The contest is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m. at Dover High School.
