Lawrenceville, NJ (Mar. 28, 2019) --- Delaware State won four of the five contested singles match to defeat Rider 5-2 today. The Hornets won three singles contests in straight sets and needed three sets for their fourth individual victory.
Anastasia Belkina posted an impressive 6-1, 6-1 victory over Amanda Binder in the No. 4 match, while Aayushi Chouhan was a 6-0, 6-3 winner over Sydney Jeffery at No. 5.
In the No. 1 contest, DSU's Cassandra Boltman outdueled Cyd Melendez 6-4, 6-3, and Sofia Rachi battled back to defeat Vanessa Canda 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 win in the No. 2 match.
The Hornets won the No. 6 singles contest by default.
Rider won the No. 3 singles match and earned the doubles points with victory at No. 1 & 2.
