LA SALLE STORMS PAST HORNETS 12-2

Phila., Pa. (Mar. 27, 2019) --- Ryan Guckin was three-for-five with two homers and five runs batted in to lead La Salle to a 12-2 win over Delaware State at Hank DeVincent Field today.

Ben Faso and Peyton Sorrels added two RBI each to help the Explorers (13-12) snap a four-game losing streak.

The Hornets dropped their third game in a row to fall to 6-15 this season.

Cole Garey was three-for-four with a home run and both Delaware State RBI in the contest.

The Explorers scored two runs in the third, one unearned, to open up a 2-0 lead.

The Hornets answered with a run in the top of the fourth when Garey smacked his first homer of the season, a solo shot over the fence in left to cut La Salle's lead in half.

La Salle scored four runs off Warrington in the fifth, highlighted by a Guckin two-run homer,  to open up a 6-2 lead.

Guckin blasted a three-run homer in the Explorers' four-run sixth to help his team stretch its lead to 10-2.

La Salle led 12-1 when Garey singled in Tommy Jordan in the eighth for the Hornets' final run. Jordan doubled to lead off the inning.

Niko Jenkins (3-0), the first of five La Salle pitchers, threw five innings, allowing a run on five hits, while striking out three without a walk to earn the win.

Warrington gave up six four runs, four earned, and 11 hits in 4.2 innings to take the loss for the Hornets.
