HORNETS EDGED OUT BY NO. 6 OSU

Dover, Del. (March 1, 2019) ---The Delaware State University Equestrian team fell 10-5 in a hard-fought battle against No. 6 Oklahoma State University.

The Hornets came out strong splitting the Equitation Over Fences 2-2. Sophomore Sydney Wicklund edged out her opponent 78-77 aboard “King”. Redshirt freshman Gabrielle Fournier outscored opponent, Abigail Brayman by fifteen points riding “Cass”.

Senior Samantha Elliott posted the lone point in the Horsemanship, while Sydney Wicklund took home her second point of the day and the lone point for the Hornets in the Equitation on the Flat with a score of 71-70.

Freshman Amber Van Segbrook turned in a stellar performance claiming the lone reining point aboard “Skeeter” to earn Most Outstanding Performer honors in the event.

Delaware State look to a head-to-head conference match up tomorrow (March 2) against South Dakota State University.
