DAY ONE RESULTS AT THE MEAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

LANDOVER, Md., (Feb. 21)After the first day of the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Precious Igwebuike had the Lady Hornets best performance of day one, finishing eighth in the Long Jump with 5.28 meters. Igwebuike was ranked as the eighth best long jumper in the conference, heading into the MEAC Championships.

Katarzyn Rosikon places 10 in the 5000-meter run clocking in at 19-minutes-57.36 seconds. Rosikon entered the Championships ranked 14th in the conference for the 5000-meter, making her top ten finish a pleasant surprise for the Lady Hornet's program.

On the men's side Roderick Brown was ranked as the tenth best long jumper entering today's event. However, he finished in eighth place after posting an impressive mark of 6.78 meters.

The 2019 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships resume on Friday at 9 a.m. with a resumption of the men's heptathlon. The women's pentathlon will start at 9:20 a.m. The first running event, the prelims of the women's 60-meter hurdles, will start at 12 p.m.
