Orlando, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2019) --- Delaware State swept three Sunday Baker bracket contests to finish ninth in the 14-team Sunshine State Classic women's bowling tournament this weekend. The 12th ranked Hornets defeated No. 22 Monmouth (4-2), Prairie View (4-1) and No. 25 Youngstown State ( 4-1) to post an overall tourney record of 8-5 and total pinfall of 12,087. DSU was 11th in the tournament standings entering Sunday's competition
Stephen F. Austin, ranked seventh in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 poll, captured the tournament title with a 13-0 overall record and 13,442 total pinfall.
A total of 11 nationally ranked competed in the Sunshine State Classic. The Hornets' 8-5 won-loss record was tied for third in the tourney field.
