Port St. Lucie, Fla. (May 13, 2013) --- The first-year Delaware State University women's golf team made a respectable showing in its inaugural PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship appearance at PGA Golf Club last weekend.
The Hornets were fourth among eight teams with a three round total of 968. Bethune-Cookman (909) defeated Texas Pan America (909) in a playoff to capture its championship-record 10th overall title.
Chicago State was third with a final score of 935.
Among the weekend highlights for DSU was the first hole-in-one in team history by Brooke Foster on the seventh hole during Friday's opening round.
Delaware State's Aisha Peete (fr.) shot a team-best 75 in the opening round. Nicole Rafer (fr.) topped the team with day-two score of 79; while Mengxuan Gai (fr.) had a final round score of 76 to lead the Hornets.
Peete led the Hornets with a three-day total of 237, followed by Rafer's 238.
