HORNET FORWARD MARQUES OLIVER HONORED BY MEAC

Dover, Del (Nov. 12, 2012) --- Delaware State's Marques Oliver (sr.; Durham, N.C.) is the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the 2012-13 season.

Oliver earned the award after blocking seven shots and collecting 10 rebounds in the Hornets' 74-56 win over Gwynedd-Mercy last Saturday. He also tallied 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-for-3 at the free throw line in the contest.

Oliver set a DSU single season record with 72 blocks during the 2011-12 campaign. He also holds the school modern-day record with 168 career blocks.

The Hornets also set a team record with 192 blocks last season.
