Dover, Del. (May 25, 2012) --- The Delaware State University baseball team's all-time NCAA Division I record for being by pitches has attracted the attention of Sports Illustrated.

An item in the SI Vault section of the latest addition (May 28, 2012) of Sports Illustrated (SI.com) focuses on the Hornets' NCAA record 152 hit-by-pitch during the 2012 season, eclipsing the previous record of 133.

In addition, Delaware State senior Scott Davis tied the all-time NCAA record of 37 hit by pitches this season.

The Hornets finished the 2012 season with a 40-17-1 overall record, matching the team record for wins in a season (40-19 in 2002). DSU captured the 2012 MEAC North Championship and reached the title game of the league tournament for the first since 2004.
