DOVER, Del. - With the season
recently underway, Delaware State senior Jordan
Reid (Accokeek, Md.) is starting to rack up the weekly honors as the outfielder
was named the CollegeSportsMadness.com MEAC Player of the Week.
Reid,
who led her team to a 3-2 record to open the season, is currently hitting .563
with nine hits, including two doubles and a triple. The back-to-back MEAC Player of the Year and
2012 Preseason Player of the Year most recently went 3-for-4 with a triple and
RBI in the Hornets' 2-1 victory over the University of North Florida.
Delaware
State defeated St. Bonaventure, Mount St. Mary's and UNF to win this past
weekend's UNF Osprey Invitational.
The
Hornets take on defending MEAC champion Bethune-Cookman this afternoon at 3
p.m. in Daytona Beach, Fla. before heading to Jacksonville for a doubleheader
against the Dolphins tomorrow starting at 4 p.m.
DSU
wraps up their Sunshine State swing with games against Kansas and UNF in the
second Osprey Invitational this coming weekend.
