LADY HORNETS HOST MEAC LEADER FLORIDA A&M MONDAY

DOVER, Del. - The Delaware State University women's basketball team hosts Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference leader Florida A&M University this evening at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

The Lady Hornets, currently at 3-14 on the year and 0-4 in MEAC play, are amidst a seven-game losing streak.

DSU lost a heartbreaker this past Saturday as they led almost the entirety of the game but were outscored, 15-7, in the final minutes of the game as Bethune-Cookman took a 52-50 victory over the Lady Hornets.  Junior Kianna D'Oliveira (Newport News, Va.) posted her first double double of the year and the second of her career with 10 points and 12 rebounds on the night.

After starting the season 1-4, FAMU is currently 13-5 and 6-0 in the MEAC.  The Lady Rattlers are riding a 10-game winning streak, dating back to Dec. 16.  FAMU leads the conference with an average of 71.8 points per game and has five players averaging in double figures.  Antonia Bennett's 19.0 points per game is best for both FAMU and the MEAC.  Additionally, Bennett leads both with 9.6 rebounds per game.

The Lady Rattlers lead the all-time series over DSU, 28-18.  This is the first and lone regular season game between the two teams.
