HORNETS BREAK EVEN AT TERRIER KNOCKDOWN

Dover, Del. (Jan. 23, 2012) --- The Delaware State bowling team posted a 5-5 record at the St. Francis Terrier Knockdown last weekend. The Hornets were 1-4 in regular team games on Saturday before collecting four wins in five Baker contests on Sunday.

Delaware State is now 35-22 overall this season, 19-12 in Baker matches and 16-10 in regular team play.

In Saturday's regular matches, the Hornets opened with a win over New Jersey City (1076-985), before falling to St. Francis-Pa. (867-879), St. Francis-NY (942-958), Fairleigh Dickinson (986-1069) and UMES (974-995)

Sophomore Tiffany Lebahn led the Hornets with a total pinfall of 1012 in five games (202.4). She topped 200 in two games, including a high of 246 vs. UMES.

Senior Jazmyne Hefflefinger was second on the team with a 969 total pinfall (193.8), topped by a score of 233 vs. New Jersey City. Angela Reynolds (sr.) recorded a total 963 in the tournament. Her best game was 238 in the Fairleigh Dickinson match.

Junior Jennifer Creno rolled a 265 vs. New Jersey City, the top single-game score for the Hornets this season. Creno finished the day with a total pinfall of 946 (198.2).

In Baker competition, Delaware State posted two victories against Hampton and Long Island, while falling to St. Francis (Pa.). The Hornets are 7-3 in their last 10 Baker matches. 

The Delaware State bowling team returns to action at the Kutztown (Pa.) Invitational this weekend.
