WOMEN?S BASKETBALL LOOKS TO SNAP LOSING STREAK

DOVER, Del. - Riding a current six-game losing streak, the Delaware State University women's basketball team looks to break out of their slump and earn their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory tomorrow as they host Bethune-Cookman at 5 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

DSU sits at 3-13 on the year and 0-3 in MEAC play.  In their most recent game, the Lady Hornets recorded too many mental mistakes in a 69-56 loss to UMES at home last Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Tierra Hawkins (Clinton, Md.) and sophomore Tasia Bristow (Baltimore, Md.) lead Del State in scoring with an average of 12.6 and 12.4 points per game, respectively.  Hawkins also leads the team with 6.1 rebounds per game.

The Lady Wildcats are currently 5-12 on the season and 2-3 in the MEAC with wins coming over Savannah State and North Carolina Central.  Junior Jasmine Elum leads the team with13.9 points per game while Demetria Frank collects an average of 6.8 rebounds per contest to lead the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Hornets lead the all-time series against B-CU, 33-23.  This is the first and lone regular season game between the two teams this season.
