HORNET SOCCER TEAM TO HOST RIDER

Dover, Del. (Sep. 7, 2010) --- The Delaware State women's soccer team will be home for the first time since August 22 when Rider pays a visit to Alumni Stadium Wednesday evening. The contest gets underway at 7:00 p.m.

The Hornets (0-6) are seeking their first win of the season. DSU is coming off a weekend trip to New York State. The trip began with a 1-0 loss to Binghamton on Friday. The Bearcats scored the game's only goal in the sixth minute of the contest. The Hornets wrapped up the trip with a 7-0 loss to Cornell on Sunday. The Big Red scored six first period goals.

Rider is 0-1-2 on the season. The Broncos played St. Francis (Pa.) to a scoreless tie this past Sunday in their most recent outing.

Rider's record also includes a 1-1 tie against New Hampshire and a 2-1 loss to Vermont.

The Hornets are 0-3 all-time vs. Rider. The teams last met in 2009, with the Broncos coming out on top 2-0 in Lawrenceville, N.J.

DSU also fell to Rider in 2007 (1-2) and 2006 (0-3).
