Dover, Del. (Aug. 30, 2010) -- Delaware State University volleyball senior Sarah Wheatcroft has been cited by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for her play this past weekend. Wheatcroft was selected as the first MEAC Volleyball Player-of-the-Week for the 2010 season.

The Newmarket, Ontario native tallied 36 kills, 32 digs and 15 assists to help lead the Hornets to a 2-2 mark at the season-opening Hilton RTP/NCCU Tournament in Durham, N.C., last weekend.

Her performance was highlighted by a double-double of 15 kills and 16 digs in Delaware State's  3-1 win over Charleston Southern on Aug. 28.

Delaware State's Jessica Croucher was listed among the "other top MEAC performers" for the week after recording 34 kills and a team-high 38 digs in the four tournament matches. The freshman outside hitter posted double figures in kills and digs in two weekend contests.
