Dover, Del. (Jan. 31, 2010) --- Delaware State was eighth out of 28 teams at the 2010 Kutztown Bowling Invitational this weekend. The highlight of the tournament for the Hornets were two wins over No. 1 Vanderbilt, and a victory over 2009 national championship runner-up Central Missouri, No. 7 in the latest poll.
DSU, No. 3 in the latest National Tenpins Coaches Association Top 20 poll, won nine of 15 matches and had a total pinfall of 7237 in the Kutztown tournament. Maryland-Eastern Shore won the championship with a 14-1 overall record and a total pinfall of 7866.
Individually, Angela Reynolds topped the Hornets with total score of 1191 in six games (198.5). Reynolds had a high game of 219.
Adriana Jaime totaled 1030 in five games (206.0), including a team-best 246. Kalyn Washburn had a total pinfall of 986 in five games (197.2).
Delaware State returns to action next weekend (Feb. 6-7), hosting the Capital Classic at Brunswick Doverama.
