HORNET WOMEN POST 2ND STRAIGHT TENNIS SHUTOUT

 

Dover (Oct. 11, 2009) ---  The Delaware State women's tennis team chalked up its second straight shutout, and third in four matches this fall, topping St. Francis 7-0 at Wesley College this afternoon. The Hornets are 4-0 this season.

DSU won each of the six singles matches in straight sets, including three by shutout.

Hannah Adewumi (No. 6) won by a 6-0, 6-0 score for the second straight match, while Cassandra Newton (No. 5) and Christina Andrade (No. 4) also posted shutout wins. Marina Sicic (No. 1), Polina Razborova (No. 2) and Anna Kovtun (No. 3) were also straight-set winners for the Hornets. Andrade, Newton and Kovtun are undefeated in four singles matches this fall.

Delaware State also swept the three doubles contests, each by shutout.
