DOVER (November 11, 2008) ? After a stellar junior season,
Cassandra Joyner earned yet another accolade as she was named to the All-MEAC First Team today. This is the first time a DSU volleyball player has been awarded this honor since 1987. (Kelly Williamson)
In the 2008 campaign, Joyner led the Hornets with 297 kills (fifth in MEAC) and 75 total blocks (fourth in MEAC). She finished second on the team with 182 digs. She was also named the MVP of the Delaware State Tournament, as well as MEAC Player of the Week twice.
Joyner and the rest of the Hornets will look to build on their current honors as they take on South Carolina State, Friday, November 14, in the first round of the 2008 MEAC Tournament. Game time is slated for noon and will take place in Holland Hall on the campus of Hampton University.
